The HTC Sensation XL-Model Set To benefit From New Music Platform

In 2011 HTC released two premium smartphones that included a high quality set of Beats Audio headphones. Thanks to the excellent sound quality that is reproduced by these headphones the HTC Sensation XL and XE have become a major success with consumers purchasing a mobile device for its music playback facilities. It now seems that HTC are to join forces with Beats Audio once again to launch a new service providing a huge choice of music to owners of devices such as these.

Music streaming platforms have become increasingly popular over the last 12 months with many consumers happy to pay a small monthly subscription which enables them to access millions of tracks. HTC and Beats Audio are looking at launching a platform of their own which should rival some of the very best that are currently available. The advantage of a service such as this that Beats Audio specialise in enhancing the sound quality of tracks rather than just providing the music. It is hoped that users of this anticipated service will be able to enjoy a huge choice of music with the sound optimised to sound superb on their HTC Sensation XL handset. Jimmy Lovine, chairman of Interscope-Geffen who are heavily involved in the Beats Audio service recently stated “We have very big ambitions for Beats beyond headphones. Music has got to succeed on the phone or else the record industry will never thrive”.

HTC are not the only mobile phone manufacturer who have turned their attention towards providing a music streaming service. Last year Sony launched the Music Unlimited service for Android phones while Blackberry have also recently unveiled their own BBM Music application. Although devices such as the HTC Sensation XL do offer a large internal storage capacity there is obviously a limit to how many songs the device will hold. Streaming services remove this restriction by enabling users to pick and chose the songs they want without having to physically store them onto their device. The service is dependant on a good data connection but this should not prove much of a problem with most areas offering a good 3G signal or WiFi hotspots. The music player that is built in to the phone offers a great alternative to streaming services. It is ideal if you do not want to use up your monthly data allowance and is also perfect for long commutes when streaming may be interrupted by a decrease in signal quality.

The HTC Sensation XL offers superb music facilities and the proposed new Beats Audio streaming service will deliver a huge selection of music to users. The audio enhancement that this new service is set to deliver should see the application prove a huge success with many consumers.

The HTC Sensation XL and the HTC Sensation XE are available now.

The HTC Sensation XL-A Superb New Music Service That Works Well

The new HTC Sensation XL is a mobile device that boasts superior audio performance to many of its rivals thanks to the incorporation of Beats Audio technology. The handset really does excel when playing music files on the music player feature that is installed on the phone and a number of new applications that enable users to stream music to their device also benefit from this enhanced sound. We take a look at the revamped Rdio application that offers super features in this area.

Rdio has been available for several months now but many users found the interface more complicated than what was on offer with alternative applications. The developers took note of this and completely redesigned the app and the end result is very impressive. The main home page highlights tracks that are currently trending with other users and also a selection of new releases. This immediately gives users a chance to experience songs that they may not have ever heard before rather than opting to find artists and songs that they are familiar with. A number of social networking features have also been added which allow you to create your own profile and list your favourite tracks. You have the option to browse other users profiles and can even add them as a friend if they have similar musical tastes to you. This new version of the application also lets you control music playback directly from the lock screen on the Sensation XL which saves the user time and makes the whole user experience much easier.

The Rdio application for the HTC Sensation XL boasts a huge database of songs that cover all genres of music. Over 12 million individual tracks are available and users can choose whether to simply listen to their track of choice or compile a playlist that incorporates it. If you choose to make a playlist this is automatically available every time you log into the service. Rdio is a subscription based service but for a relatively small monthly outlay you have access to a massive selection of music. Once you have signed up you can even access the service from a PC or laptop so you can download music from the site and edit playlists that you have already created. If you find yourself hooked to the service there are even devices available that let you access the facilities on a television while linked to a home audio centre to give you the ultimate sound experience.

The new Rdio application offers some useful new features that make using the service a real pleasure. A massive selection of music is available and the new social features further enhance the appeal of the application. The HTC Sensation XL is the perfect mobile device to use with this service as the audio performance enables you to enjoy your music in the highest possible quality.

The Excellent HTC Sensation XE And A Forthcoming Release From HTC

Over the past two years HTC have established themselves as one of the leading players in the smartphone world. Devices such as the Desire and the Desire S have sold in huge numbers and newer handsets such as the HTC Sensation XE and XL have captured the imagination of the public with their large displays and excellent audio facilities. It now look likely that we will see some new models announced in February at an event that is being organised by HTC on the 26th, one day before the annual MWC convention when new models are normally announced.

There are rumours that the big announcement from HTC will be the release of their first quad core smartphone device. It has already been reported that the iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S3 will incorporate this kind of chipset so it is no great surprise the HTC are planning the launch of a similar model. There is speculation that the premium device that will be unveiled will be the HTC Edge. This model is rumoured to incorporate a 720P resolution screen which means that it will offer the greatest pixel density on the market. The quad core processor is said to be clocked at 1.5Ghz which will also make the phone one of the fastest available. HTC are not alone in planning a major event just ahead of the MWC, both Sony and Huawei have confirmed for the same day and Samsung are rumoured to also be planning an event of their own.

If the HTC Edge is announced then it will join the HTC Sensation XE and XL at the top of the manufacturers range. These two devices were launched at the end of 2011 and have so far proven a great success with the public. One reason why these models are so popular is because HTC have focused on the audio features, an area that if often neglected by many manufacturers. Both of the handsets use Beats Audio technology, an audio enhancement facility that has been developed by US Hip Hop star Dr Dre. This technology enables the relatively small speakers that are incorporated in the model to produce some great low frequency sounds. Both models are also supplied with a special pair of headphones that boast the same properties. The visuals have not been neglected and both models offer high quality screens which are a great partner for the superb audio features when watching movies or gaming.

It looks certain that HTC will launch a quad core smartphone that will join the HTC Sensation XE and XL at the top of their range. All three models will offer superb picture quality and the use of Beats Audio puts the handsets ahead of their rivals for audio performance.

The HTC Sensation XE and the HTC Sensation XL are available now.

The HTC Desire S And The Sony Xperia Play Offer Great Features And Value For Money

Over the past 12 months we have seen dozens of high quality mobile handsets released. Unfortunately an elite group of smartphones tend to grab much of the media attention and over shadow some of their equally as impressive counterparts. Everybody know of models such as the iPhone 4S, the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the Blackberry range but if you are prepared to delve a little deeper their are some excellent phones available and some of them at a fraction of the cost of the more famous models. We take a look at two such devices, the HTC Desire S and the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play.

The HTC S Desire is is a great handset that that combines a nice compact size with some excellent features. Many manufacturers seem a preoccupied with producing multi media beasts with very large screens but the negative effect of this is that the devices have become quite large. The Desire S is beautifully designed and incorporates a 3.7 inch screen which means that the model is small enough to be easily slipped into a suit jacket or a trouser pocket. The phone runs on the excellent Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system which means that it has access to the majority of applications and games titles that are available from the Android Market. The 1Ghz Scorpion processor ensures that the majority of these titles will run with no problems although some of the newer and more demanding games available may struggle on this phone. For the person looking for a high quality day to day phone this is the perfect device. The only people who should look elsewhere are gaming fanatics who require more processing power and a larger display.

If you are the type of person who uses their phone for mobile gaming then you may consider taking a look at a phone like the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play rather than the HTC Desire S. Rather than trying to appeal to the average phone user this model is unashamedly pitched directly at the mobile gaming market. The best way that we can describe this model is as a hybrid of the Sony PSP portable games console and a clam shell designed phone. Rather than relying upon the touch screen to house the controls this model features a gaming keypad which leaves the display free to show you all of the action. This model fell short of many peoples expectations but that was mainly because it was being compared to games consoles rather than mobile phones. As a mobile phone there really is no better model for gaming quality and power. A good selection of titles are available and as the model is now several months old the price has tumbled making it perfect for consumers looking for something a little different from the standard smartphone.

The HTC Desire S and the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play are two superb mobile devices that are often overlooked in favour of their more famous siblings and rivals. The Desire S is really a superb device that offers a perfect blend of great design and features while the Xperia Play is something a little different with awesome mobile gaming capabilities.

The HTC Desire S and the Samsung Galaxy S2 are available now.

The Superb HTC Sensation XL And Paper Camera-How The Two Work Together

One of the key features on many modern smartphones is the excellent camera facilities that are on offer. As the camera features have improved in quality the number of applications available to enhance these facilities has also increased. The iPhone has typically had access to the best software in this area but a new Android app named Paper Camera has been released which is perfect for devices such as the HTC Sensation XL and Sensation XE.

There are numerous applications available that enable you to manipulate how your photographs look. Many of these are very poor in quality but occasionally one comes along which produces superb results. Last year we saw the Instagram app for the iPhone 4 become a global success thanks to its beautiful visuals and simple interface and now Android have a similar option in the shape of Paper Camera. Rather than confuse the user with multiple options and effects this new software is very simple to use which is why it will appeal to many Android consumers. The attractive thing about Paper Camera is that it applies the effects to your photograph in real time. What this basically means is that you can see how the image will look before you actually take the photograph. This is a much quicker system than what is offered by alternative software which relies upon you capturing the image and then applying the effects afterwards. Some of the effects that this application produces look superb. The sketch option looks artistic and has a retro feel while another option multiplies the image by four and applies a different colour filter to each individual picture. The result of this is a modern looking image that is reminiscent of something that may have been painted by Andy Warhol. Thanks to the high quality displays used by devices such as the HTC Sensation XL and XE the results look fantastic.

The Paper Camera application for the HTC Sensation XL uses an interface that phone users of all ages will find easy to navigate. Rather than present the user with a complex screen full of various effects the interface is very minimal. In an attempt to make the software look totally different from many rivals the developers have given the home screen a design that looks as though it has been roughly sketched on a notepad. This gives the application a unique look and feel which feels a million miles away from the copycat interfaces used by many similar systems. Retrieving your images is also a very simple task. Rather than final photographs being stored within the software itself they are placed directly into your photo gallery so they can be viewed alongside all of your other images. Although the application may be a little basic for photographers looking for more advanced results it will appeal to the majority of Android users and the fact that it has already gained over half a million downloads supports this fact.

Some premium Android devices such as the HTC Sensation XL and XE combine very high quality camera facilities with displays that offer extremely high resolution. Such handsets are perfect for applications such as Paper Camera which give you photographs a fun and attractive twist.

The HTC Sensation XL and the HTC Sensation XE are available now.

Web pages occupy the entire display of the phone which means that all content can be viewed in great detail. Once you have launched the browser pressing the main menu button reveals six different options on the screen. The first of these options is a Back and a Forward key to allow you to easily switch between pages you have recently viewed. If you are reading a particular segment of text that is of interest you have the option to copy it or look it up with a Google search. Social networkers can also share the page with their friends through sites such as Facebook. A great aspect of this web browser is that it offers full Flash support so the viewing experience is similar to what you would expect from a home PC or laptop.

The worlds two largest social networking sites both have applications installed on the HTC Sensation XE. Facebook and Twitter both have official software present on this model and both of these platforms work very well. The Facebook facility is the very latest version meaning that users can take advantage of excellent features such as Facebook Chat and Facebook Places which enables you to check into locations that you visit. The official Twitter application incorporates geotagging facilities which embeds details of your current location into posts and photographs that you upload to the site. The Superb HTC Rhyme-We look At Music And Video Playback

The new HTC Rhyme handset is a phone that manages to impress in most areas. The modern design immediately catches the eye and when you begin to use the phone a number of elements impress especially the social networking facilities and the excellent user interface. Here we take a look at the video and music playback options on this model, an area that is becoming increasingly important on the modern smartphone.

Although there is no dedicated video player on the HTC Rhyme video files can still be easily accessed from the gallery that also stores photographic images. Files are presented to you in a neat grid format with a small thumbnail displaying a snapshot of the footage. Any videos that are stored have multiple sharing options which is something that HTC have become very famous for. You can send your files to friends via an MMS message or an email or even post them directly to social networking sites such as Flickr and Facebook. When playing back a video file on the Rhyme the interface is incredibly simple with your basic control keys present in addition to a new toggle which adjusts the footage to entirely fill the screen. Multiple file types are accepted by the Rhyme and we found that when you are viewing footage that is not in high definition some file formats such as MKV will work even though they are officially not supported by the phone. When sticking with the official file types High Definition looked superb as you would expect. These types are MP4, H.263 and H.264 although we also found no problem with WMV files.

The new user interface that is sported by the HTC Rhyme means that the music player offers a slightly different look to previous models. When you first launch this application you are offered two simple options. The first of these is a drop down menu which allows you to choose from tracks that are stored on your Rhyme device or songs streamed to the phone via a DNLA server. The second option opens up another drop down menu where you can choose from Album, Artist, Songs, Playlists and Genres. Full cover art is supported by the phone and the high quality display ensures that this looks superb. There are some options on the device which enable you change the sound settings to suit your own taste. The default setting is good but if you find yourself wanting a deeper sound or one that is clearer vocally then this can easily be adjusted. The phone also includes SRS sound enhancement which helps you get the best possible sound from the speakers and headphones that you use with this model.

A high standard of music and video features are present on the HTC Rhyme which help make it one of the very best mid range phones that we have looked at. Audio performance is superb and video results are very pleasing especially when viewed in High Definition.

The HTC Rhyme and the Samsung Galaxy Note are available now.

The HTC Sensation XL-What We Think Of The New Snapdragon Games Service

The new HTC Sensation XL comes complete with a wealth of excellent features that users can experiment with the minute they take the phone out of the box. There are some new features that are being introduced throughout 2012 and one of the more impressive looks set to be the Snapdragon Game Command application from Qualcomm.

Qualcomm produce the Snapdragon processor chips that are used inside all premium HTC models and the new feature aims to showcase the power of the chipset with some superb games titles. The software will only be available on handsets like the XL that incorporate the Snapdragon chipset. The service includes over 100 games titles and each and every one of these titles has been optimised for use with the more powerful processor. These optimisations range from exclusive content to improved graphics which will make the title stand out from alternative versions available on less powerful handsets. There are several elements to Snapdragon Game Command with the most obvious of these being the opportunity to download titles to your handset. There will also be the facility to stream the latest trailers to your handset so you can see which games may take your fancy. The software will also feature a section where you can view all content that you have purchased and downloaded. A key factor to this new service is discovering titles that may be of interest to you. The software links to ten individual RSS feeds that keep you up to date with new arrivals on the platform and each individual game has an indicator that highlights exactly how the title has been optimised for the platform.

The HTC Sensation XL runs one of the very best Snapdragon chipsets which makes it the perfect device for this new service. The processor part of this set up is the MSM8255 chip which boasts a very fast speed of 1.5Ghz. This makes the processor one of the most powerful currently available despite the fact that it is only a single core chip rather than one that boasts dual cores. There is also an excellent Adreno 205 graphics processing unit present which does a superb job of making everything displayed on the screen look smooth even when it incorporates very fast movement. The phone also includes a very large display which is perfect for the multitude of games that are on offer. This screen measures 4.7 inches and displays a very high resolution of 480 x 800 which enables the phone to show 199 pixels per inch.

The new Snapdragon Game Command Service looks like an exciting introduction for users of this device in 2012. The HTC Sensation XL is the ultimate device to take full advantage of the service thanks to its powerful processor and superb quality large display.

The New HTC Rhyme-Photography On This Model Very Impressive

HTC have released some superb premium phones recently but they have also produced a great mid range device that will appeal to a large number of consumer thanks to it stylish looks that it offers. The new HTC Rhyme is a handset aimed at a female audience but the phone will appeal to all different kinds of users looking for great specification at a pocket friendly price. We explore the camera features that are present on this great new model.

A high quality still camera is fitted in the HTC Rhyme that can capture still images at a resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels. This figure equates to 5 million pixels which tends to be the benchmark for phones of this quality with only the more premium devices tending to offer resolution of 8 mega pixels. An LED flash is fitted on the phone which is ideal for capturing the moment when lighting conditions are not perfect. The model uses the new Sense 3.5 user interface and this has improved the controls that the camera uses. On the right hand side of the screen there is the shutter key which can easily be activated with your right thumb. A number of other keys are located alongside the shutter button including the toggle that switches the camera between the main lens and the front facing camera. In the top left hand corner of the screen you will find the button that enables you to add various effects to your images and below this there is a shortcut to the gallery which allows you to view all of the photos that you have taken on the phone.

The HTC Rhyme includes a number of features that help you achieve great results from the camera. The model has Face Detection and when this is activated the phone will automatically focus on any faces that are within the frame. There is also an excellent touch focus facility which simply enables you to tap the part of the picture that you want the camera to focus on. If you prefer to keep matters a little more simple then you can simply leave the phone in autofocus mode and the device will concentrate on whatever is featured in the centre of the frame. A handy feature for fans of social networking sites is the new Auto Upload option which allows you to quickly load your picture onto sites such as Facebook the moment it is captured. Geo Tagging is incorporated which puts a geographical location on all photos that you take. This is particularly useful if you travel a lot and want a reminder of where each individual snap is taken.

The HTC Rhyme includes an excellent camera facility which produces a great standard of image together with some excellent options which make taking the photograph a quick and simple affair.

The HTC Rhyme And How The Video Capture Functions

The new HTC Rhyme is one of the latest handsets to be released by the South Korean manufacturer. This model is aimed at the mid range market yet still manages to offer some excellent multi media features. Previously we took at look at the superb camera features that are incorporated on this new model and now we take a look at the video capture facility.

The HTC Rhyme records video footage in a resolution of 720P. This means that each frame features 720 progressively scanned horizontal lines which is the minimum standard needed to be classified as High Definition. The footage is captured in the MP4 format at a frame rate of 21 per second which means the final result is very smooth and easy to watch. Just like the camera feature the video camera uses a brand new interface that is much easier to use than what can be found on some earlier devices. The main record button is located on the right hand side of the screen together with a number of other options. By having these all positioned to the side of the screen means that it keeps your hands away from the main bulk of the display which in turn means you can see more of the scene that you are recording. The video capture uses an auto focus but this locks the moment you start recording so it is worth making sure everything looks clear before you start to record.

There are a number of customisable options available on the HTC Rhyme which have some interesting effects on your final recorded footage. Perhaps the most impressive of these is the excellent new slow motion record. Although this mode reduces the resolution of the recording the final result looks great with the speed of the footage reduced by 50 percent. There are some other great effects that can be applied to your recording including Sepia and and a Gray Scale option that gives the film an interesting vintage look. Editing facilities for your final product are fairly limited although you do have the ability to trim sections from the beginning and the end of the recording. This is great if you have pressed the record button a little early or left it recording for longer than you need to. Video footage can consume a large volume of storage space so it is reassuring to see that the Rhyme not only incorporates 4GB of internal storage capacity and also features a micro SD card slot that can accept card sizes up to 32GB. This means that the phone has a potential total storage of 36GB.

We loved the camera features on the HTC Rhyme and the video facilities are equally as impressive. The HD footage looks superb and some excellent effects mean you can hours of fun with this area of the phone.

The HTC Rhyme and the HTC Sensation XE are available now.

The HTC Explorer-An Overview Of The Excellent Sense UI Platform

Despite being one of the more budget models in the HTC range the Explorer handset still benefits from some premium features. One of the areas where this new model impresses is in the user interface department where the phone uses the excellent HTC Sense UI. We take a brief look at this software and see how it benefits this excellent handset.

The idea behind the Sense user interface is to simplify a number of functions on the phone to enhance the overall user experience. One area where this is evident is when it comes to the simple task of making a call. When you begin to type a name or a phone number the phone searches your contacts list and your call log and displays only the results that are relevant to you. This reduces the need to scroll through numerous entries in a phone book. You can also group all of your favourite people together on the phone so you can read messages and social networking updates from them all in one place. This also allows you to send a message to multiple recipients at the same time. Thanks to the excellent social network connectivity that is offered on this model data from these sites can be incorporated into your contacts list. Not only does this mean that you have more access to details about your friends but it also paves the way for some neat features. A great example of this is when you receive a telephone call. Rather than the screen displaying just the name of who is calling it will also produce a picture and their latest Facebook status.

HTC Sense is not only about functionality but also about the how your phone looks. This user interface on the HTC Explorer is arguably the most attractive that we have ever encountered. Multiple homescreens allow you to fully customise how you want your display arranged and even if you find the seven screens slightly confusing there is a page available that gives you a quick glimpse at all available screens. From this page you simply tap on the one you require and you are taken directly to that screen. This is a much faster method than swiping through several displays to find the one that you require. Another area where the HTC really stands out against rivals such as the iPhone 4S is with their active wallpapers that are available. On the Apple phone you are presented with a neat grid of icons but HTC spice this up a little by adding a background that can actually display the current weather conditions in your area. This means you will see virtual droplets of water splashing on the screen if it is raining or the moon and stars if it is evening time.

The Sense user interface is just one of many reasons why the HTC Explorer is such a superb model. The device is easy to use which makes it perfect for first time smartphone users and the visual appearance of the interface rivals any other phone currently available.

The HTC Explorer and the iPhone 4S are available now.

The New HTC Explorer-We Explore The Excellent Ui

Modern smartphones can be a little daunting for new users thanks to the wealth of features that they offer. HTC have decided to take a step back from the ultra competitive premium phone race and have focused on releasing a model that is simple to use but one that all boasts your typical smartphone features. The new HTC Explorer is that model and we take a look at this phone to see just how simple it is to use.

The HTC Sense interface that is used on this model really does simplify the Android operating system that is used on the phone. Rather than being presented with a homescreen that is full of unused applications and icons the Explorer knows which features you use more frequently and places these more prominently on the main screen. The Explorer also incorporates Push Notifications which means that the user can be kept up to date with certain applications without actually needing to access them. One area where this works very well is with the e mail feature on the phone. The Explorer will let you know if you have incoming mail, even if you are not currently using the e mail application. These notifications are displayed clearly on the main screen and swiping your finger across them will then automatically launch the relevant application. Even when the phone is not in use it is still easy to activate thanks to a well designed lockscreen which enables you to directly access certain features. Contacts, mail, camera and messages can all be opened by a simple swipe on the screen.

The internet browser on the HTC Explorer is another example of just how simple this handset is to use. The nice thing about this browser is that it is very similar to what you may expect to find on a home PC or laptop so it immediately feels familiar. A large address bar is located at the top of the screen which uses a nice clear font so that web addresses are easy to read. The high quality display that the phone uses help web pages look vivid and detailed and even small text that is displayed is easy to read. The model will automatically change the size of a webpage so that it can be displayed in full on your phone screen. This reduces the need for the user to have to pan across the screen to get all of the news that they want. If the page you are viewing contains a phone number that you need you can tap the digits and the phone will call that number. Likewise if an address is displayed a simple tap will open Google Maps which will display location details.

The HTC Explorer offers some great features but the refreshing thing about this model is that it is one of the most simple to operate. Thanks to this simplicity the phone is ideal to people who have previously never used a smartphone. Thanks to the cheaper price of this model compared with rival phones it is also a great gift idea for the forthcoming festive period.

The HTC Explorer and the HTC Desire S are available now.

Two Superb Top End Devices-The HTC Sensation XL And XE

Over the past 12 months there is no doubt that the two mobile handsets that have gained the most media attention are the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the iPhone 4S. The Samsung model broke sales figures in the earlier part of the year and went on to become the biggest selling phone of the year whilst the iPhone 4S captured the publics attention in September thanks to some excellent software. A brand that has been somewhat overshadowed by these two heavyweights is HTC. We look at the sales figures recorded by the the firm for the 3rd quarter of 2011 and see what to expect over the coming months from models such as the HTC Sensation XL.

HTC have been steadily expanding and their range of mobile devices and their encouraging sales figures for the 3rd quarter of the year suggest that the smartphone market is certainly not a straight head to head race between Apple and Samsung. HTC managed to shift 13.2 million handsets during this period which is a massive increase of 93 per cent on the same period in 2010. In terms of net income this rise in sales signified a 68% increase. Smartphone sales are currently huge for all manufacturers thanks to more basic feature phones being replaced by smartphone varieties. A spokesperson for HTC stated that the success achieved by the brand over recent months can be attributed to “strong brand recognition” together with a “leading product portfolio”. HTC certainly do offer a varied range of models from the newer entry level devices to the recently released Sensation XL premium device. Looking at the mid range sector of the market we must not forget that HTC boast the award winning Desire S and the popular Wildfire models.

Thanks to the launch of new models such as the HTC Sensation XL and the Sensation XE it looks as though the fourth quarter of the year may prove even more fruitful for the company. HTC themselves are remaining cautious about the forthcoming months by stating that they expect to sell a similar amount of handsets as they did in Q3, however do not be surprised if these two big new releases see a further improvement in sales. The Sensation XL sports a huge 4.7 inch display together with some impressive camera features that include an 8 mega pixel primary camera and 1080P video recording. The Sensation XE uses a smaller 4.3 inch display and is a model that is aimed at the mainstream market rather than the more specialised multi media users that the XL is targeting. Both of the models operate at great speed with the XL utilising a great 1.5Ghz processor while the XE uses a more powerful dual core chip of the same size.

HTC have continued to steadily grow within the smartphone market and the two new Sensation models look to further enhance the growing reputation of the brand. The HTC Sensation XL will appeal to people wanting to use their phone for gaming and movie playback while the Sensation XE is a more compact device with a smaller screen but boasting a more impressive chipset.

The Excellent HTC Sensation XL-A Look At This Model And Its Family

HTC have recently established themselves as one of the leading mobile phone manufacturers. The company focus purely on smartphones to meet the requirements of a broad spectrum of consumers from first time owners to experienced users. The current range of model features something for everyone so we take a quick look at the current range and see what is on offer.

The range starts with the superb HTC Explorer. This model is intended to be a perfect first smartphone and is ideal for anybody upgrading from a feature phone. The model runs on the popular Android operating system and incorporates a 3.2 inch display capable of showing a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. In the processor department the model makes use of a 600 Mhz Scorpion processor which operates at a good speed although multi tasking does slow the handset down a little. A 3 mega pixel camera is fitted on the phone which is perfect for uploading snaps to Facebook and Twitter. If you are taking your first steps in the smartphone world then this model is perfect. The Explorer has also found itself popular with an older generation of user that requires smartphone functionality but in a very basic form. Stepping up the range a little we find the HTC Wildfire S, a model that offers the same screen technology and processor speed as the Explorer but offer improved camera features. The camera on this model can capture shots at 5 mega pixel resolution and also video footage in VGA quality at a rate of 24 frames per second.

Sitting nicely in the middle of the HTC range is the Desire S, the update on the best selling Desire. Not so long ago this model would have found itself at the top of the range but with the ever improving technology available it is now an attractive mid range phone available at a good price. Screen size jumps up to 3.7 inches on this model and resolution is also boosted to 480 x 800 pixels. Digital still photographs are captured at the same 5 million pixel resolution as the Wildfire S but video capture has been boosted to 720P high definition quality. In the engine room of the phone there is also a substantial upgrade to the processor with this model offering a powerful 1Ghz processor.

At the very top of the range we find the two newest models, the HTC Sensation XL and the Sensation XE. Both of these models use considerably larger screens with the XL utilising a massive 4.7 inch display and a slightly smaller 4.3 inch screen on the XE. Thanks to these large displays both of these models will appeal to fans of multi media services and both devices acknowledge this by including some excellent features. Digital photographs are great on both models thanks to very high 8 mega pixel resolution while video capture is equally impressive at 1080P resolution. One area where these two models offer features that outshine all of their rivals is in the audio playback department. HTC have opted to incorporate Beats Audio technology into the models which helps a more deep and natural sound be reproduced when using either headphones or the loudspeakers that are fitted on each model.

HTC really do offer a model for every type of customer. The HTC Explorer and Wildfire are perfect for younger teenagers or people wanting a cheap and simple smartphone while the HTC Desire offers a blend of great features and modern design at a competitive price. The new HTC Sensation XL and Sensation XE are the two premium models in the range and feature the very latest technology for smartphone enthusiasts everywhere.
